Peace, Love and Winter Whites!

Now that we’re squarely in December with shorter days, cold tempatures, gray skies and snow upon us, we thought it was the perfect time of year to pay homage to the color white. Sophisticated, modern and clean.

White rooms are popular no matter where you live.  As you peruse Pinterest, Instagram or popular lifestyle bloggers you will see it everywhere. From crisp white walls, to comfy white sofas, lush shag rugs and the ever so popular sheepskin throws. Whether you like the crisp white vibe or more of the cream and white mix for that tone-on-tone look, you can always find ways to introduce more of it into your living spaces.

And, of course, we know not everyone is ready for a completely white interior—especially if you have little ones or furry friends. But if you like the clean, Scandinavian look, there are some easy ways to pull it off in a vignette or on a smaller scale.  Here are 6 ways to cozy up your space with pretty winter whites.

White Upholstery

You can update a side chair or even a sofa with custom slipcovers. Try crisp or winter white fabric in a heavyweight upholstery like a cotton duck cloth that is highly durable and also washable. If you’re in the market for a new sofa and are willing to commit to white year-round, we love a crisp white tailored sofa for a show-stopping look.

Sheepskin Throws

The plush sheepskin throw is a Decorist favorite and one that we use in many of our own room designs. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, price points and styles. However, winter white is a true classic that delivers texture and warmth in a bedroom, den or even a kitchen. We especially like them draped over a simple hardwood chair for a striking soft-hard contrast.
